A single roll of film, shot in California. This is the first zine I put together with the help of Mark Murrmann at the Zine class I attended at the Leica Store in San Francisco. He showed me how you can build a narrative and draw out themes just with order and arrangement of the photos. By mixing up the chronology you can focus on point of view of the photographer and inhabit the slice of time of late 2022.
My first zine features artistic black and white shots of San Francisco, the Fog Art Fair and the Tennessee valley recreational area. 60 pages including the cover with around 30 photographs spread across the pages.
The photos were all shot in January 2022 using my Canon Canonet QL17 on Ilford HP400 film. The film was developed and scanned at PhotoWorksSF and was printed by Mixam on a fancy digital printing press.
Printed in black and white on 80lb uncoated paper with a 100lb matte laminated cover. The booklet is saddle stitched with two staples. It measures a pocketable 5.75 x 4.2 inches so when you page through it the double spreads evoke the classic feeling of looking through 8x6 photographs.
*Exclusive Edition*: Limited to 100 copies. Numbered and signed individually, this edition invites you to own not just a zine but a part of my creative journey.
